Mound City R-2

The beginning of the school year, the FACS department purchased a tower garden. The tower garden is an aeroponic system students are using in Mrs. Wilmes food science class to learn how to grow fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables without using soil. The tower garden runs nutrient and mineral filled water down the inside of the tower hitting the roots of the plants. This cuts down the time it takes for the plants to grow. The class is harvesting dill and lettuce weekly and are waiting for bell peppers, cucumbers and watermelon to grow to maturity.
