Mrs. Eaton had a huge smile on her face when she realized all the cars parked on the side of the highway were not people parked for an auction. When we turned from the interstate off ramp and came over the bridge towards our house, she noticed several cars. She said “what are all those cars about?” I said, “it might be an auction.” She couldn’t see the grin on my face. It looked kinda like cars parked for an auction, so technically it could have been. She then began calling out the teachers and some of their kids by name and asked “why are they holding signs?” Then the light came on! Her face was glowing and her "new" heart was happy (I'm thinking of the donor's family). An awesome moment, created by several MCR-2 staff members. Thank you for that, sincerely!
As we head into technically the last week of the strangest end to a school year, I can’t help to reminisce on the great things that occurred. From the beginning of the year to the end of the third quarter things were rolling along so smooth. Then COVID……..I am so proud of our staff, students, parents/guardians and our community for the way that all mentioned adjusted so rapidly and effectively. All of us were very anxious at first, but the staff’s ingenuity kicked in immediately. Students and parents followed suit. A deep appreciation is owed, I really don’t know how to thank everyone appropriately, so all I have is “thank you.”
As we begin the process of checking out next week for returning supplies, technology and picking up belongings please remember to follow the social distancing guidelines.
I know that our teachers, paraprofessionals, secretaries, kitchen ladies, maintenance crew, administrators and bus drivers can't wait until next fall when school starts again to say "Welcome Home!"
